27 years ago, some homemakers, having time on their hand, after fulfilling their
household responsibilities, decided to get together to not only have a good
time, but also to use it constructively. They met other ladies who could join
them. Most of them had the same thing to say, that they were bored as they found
time hanging on their hands once their spouses and children left for work and
school. There was no recreation whatsoever and though they were talented, there
was no opportunity for them to display their art and creativity. Suddenly, an
idea flashed in their mind. why not start a Ladies Club!!! And so.WAKE CLUB was
born. Today, Wake Club is a social and charitable organization of elite women
from our society. We provide wonderful opportunities for making friends, while
meeting every month. We offer a variety of social events throughout the year as
well as numerous activities and fundraising events for the benefit of society.
Community spirit, leadership, friendship, fun and a commitment to volunteerism
are just a few words that best describe what Wake Club is all about. Since the
last 10 years, we have also been organizing an all Ladies Annual Vacation to an
International Destination. This, say the members, has helped them become
self-reliant and confident and above all given them an opportunity to be
themselves.
All the members have contributed from the time of the club's inception 27 years
ago, in taking the club to greater heights and make Wale Club buzz with endless
activity. In these 27 years our membership has grown from strength to strength
and so have our activities. These activities, social events and fund-raising
opportunities tempt our members into action. We have taken up different projects
for which we raised funds through Fashion shows, cultural extravaganzas and
Bazaar. Every year we conduct the 'Wake Club Bazaar' before Rakhi. This has
been designed specifically to raise funds for various charities and is a much
awaited event by the entrepreneurs who put up stalls to sell their products.
This Bazaar has carved a niche for itself amongst ladies who value quality
shopping.
At Wake we believe : "Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got."
Today, after all the efforts put in by its members, we can proudly summarize
that.

A Wake Woman contributes something worthwhile to the people whom she inspires.
Her boldness, deep and wide transforms the current. She is beyond what you
expect from a woman ' BEING HERSELF '.
